This site is simple, and so is this policy. It explains what happens to your personal data when you visit stefanvandervlag.com or sign up for my newsletter.
Who is responsible
stefanvandervlag.com is run by Marketing Released B.V., Pauwenkamp 142, 3607 GK Maarssen, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 62865668. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: hello@stefanvandervlag.com.
What we collect and why
When you visit the site. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request data (like your browser type and the page you asked for) to deliver the page and protect the site against abuse. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, doesn't track you across sites and doesn't build a profile of you; it gives us totals like page views per page and where visitors came from. We don't use tracking pixels or advertising tools. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website and knowing which pages are read.
When you subscribe to the newsletter. We collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. ActiveCampaign also records when and from where you signed up and confirmed, so we can prove you asked to be on the list. We use this to send you the newsletter and see which emails get opened and clicked, so we can make them better. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
Testimonials. The customer quotes on the homepage were shared publicly by customers of my apps, and we show them with their name and profile photo as they posted them. If one of them is you and you'd like it removed, email us and we'll take it down.
When you email us. We use your email address and what you write to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to messages.
Who else sees your data
We share personal data only with the services that help us run this site and newsletter:
- Cloudflare (hosting, security and privacy-friendly visitor statistics)
- ActiveCampaign (newsletter sending and subscriber management)
ActiveCampaign is based in the United States. Transfers outside the European Economic Area are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your personal data.
We don't use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter details: as long as you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a suppression list, so you never get another email from us by mistake.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to handle your question, and no longer than 2 years.
- Hosting request data: kept by Cloudflare for a short period for security purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to send it to you in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent for the newsletter at any time. Send your request to hello@stefanvandervlag.com and we'll respond within 1 month.
You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Children
This site and the newsletter are not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. Details are in the cookie policy.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for newsletter subscribers, we'll tell you by email.
